The 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme is a significant initiative by Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy. Launched in 2023, its primary goal is to develop a robust technical workforce to drive the nation’s digital economy and position Nigeria as a leading exporter of tech talent globally.

The 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, a critical part of the Renewed Hope agenda, is aimed at building Nigeria’s technical talent backbone to power our digital economy and position Nigeria as a net talent exporter. The first phase of the programme, executed in collaboration with NITDA, will involve multiple stakeholders including fellows, training providers, partners and placement organisations.

3MTT Programme Objectives

Skill Development: Equip 3 million Nigerians with in-demand technical skills by 2027.

Key Features:

Phased Implementation: The programme is structured in multiple phases:

Phase 1: Initiated in December 2023, training 30,000 fellows across all 36 states and the FCT.
Phase 2: Aims to train 270,000 individuals in cohorts of 60,000, 90,000, and 120,000 respectively.
