CDCFIB Releases 2025 Recruitment Performance Breakdown: See what is Next
We wish to inform the general public that the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has released a comprehensive Performance breakdown of the 2025 Computer-Based Test (CBT) performance, marking the completion of Stage 2 of the nationwide recruitment exercise.

Stage 1: Application Phase
The cdcfib application portal begun on 14th July and ended 11th August 2025 attracting a total of 1,873,522 applications across all services in Nigeria.
Total applications by service (as shown):
- Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS): 165,212
- Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS): 703,499
- Federal Fire Service (FFS): 406,491
- Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC): 482,198
- Board Headquarters & Miscellaneous: 116,122

In addition to service totals, the infographic displayed an application breakdown by state showing where application volumes were highest. This geographic breakdown highlights regional participation and competitiveness in the recruitment.
Stage 2: Shortlisting Phase
Following the initial screening of submissions, applications were categorized as completed, incomplete, or disqualified. The shortlisting process filtered out applications that did not meet the minimum submission requirements or were missing key documents.
Shortlist summary:
- Completed applications: 1,120,491
- Incomplete applications: 432,935
- Disqualified applications: 360,923
The majority of applicants had completed their submissions, but a sizeable number were flagged as incomplete or disqualified — a reminder that attention to detail matters when applying for large, competitive recruitment exercises.
Stage 3: Examination Phase (CBT)
Stage 3 consisted of an Online Computer-Based Test (CBT), conducted between 12th and 19th November 2025. Test results were grouped by score bands to show overall candidate performance.
CBT scoreboard (score bands):
- 0–40: 221,996 candidates
- 41–60: 229,155 candidates
- 61–80: 278,543 candidates
- 81–100: 142,697 candidates
The largest concentration of test-takers scored in the 61–80 band, indicating a strong middle-range performance overall. The published charts also compared performance by state, which can help identify regions with higher average scores or stronger preparation efforts.

What’s Next?
Physical Screening and Document Verification. Candidates who were successful at the CBT exam will be required to attend physical screening which consists of the following:
- Fitness tests
- Measurements (height/chest as applicable),
- Certificate verification
Applicants should prepare by gathering the original copies of their credentials, ensuring identification documents are valid, and improving physical readiness for the fitness assessments. Any form of misconduct or presentation of fake documents during the physical screening will not be tolerated.
