Head of QHSE & Facilities

Description
- Daystar Power Group is looking to engage a competent and experienced Head of QHSE & Facilities (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment), who will foster a safety culture and performance in the workplace by educating and ensuring QHSE compliance in accordance with internal and external demands.
- We are seeking hard working, motivated, and well-organized individuals with a focus on continuous improvement to exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishing, implementing, and maintaining processes required for QHSE Management systems and drive QHSE initiatives and inculcate a positive safety culture within the company.
- Ensuring that the QHSE Management System is established implemented and maintained in accordance with ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001.
- Ensuring that all process owners, supervisors, and managers develop and maintain their part of the Quality Management System.
- Facilitating preparation of work procedures, processes, and flow charts in coordination with the concerned departments.
- Managing the Internal Quality Audit (IQA) and HSE Audit activities in the company to ensure that QHSE management system is uniformly implemented across the organization.
- Generating statistical reports in Quality and HSE for management review.
- Communicating information and improvement on the QHSE Management System throughout the organization and promote QHSE awareness.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or its equivalent with additional professional qualifications in QHSE, Facilities and Fire & Safety Management Systems.
- Experience:
- At least 8 years of experience, with 5 years in QHSE at managerial level.
- Experience in successful implementation of ISO 9001, QHSAS 18001 or ISO 14001 requirement in at least one organization or others relevant to the power sector.
- Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, Environmental Discharges, Incident Command System, Incident Investigation Tool, HSE Auditing Techniques.
- Relevant Industrial and Management Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.
- Language Proficiency: English.
- Character:
- Self-motivated and demonstrate a sense of ownership with high level of commitment and the ability to thrive under pressure.
- Passionate about health, safety and the environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to lead and work well in teams.

Field Service Manager
Location: Lagos
Description
- Daystar Power Group is currently seeking a Field Service Engineering Manager to manage the operation and maintenance of the Lagos and South-West sites, resulting in a 99% uptime or better, and ensuring customer experience is world class, resulting in a Net Promoter Score of 70 or above.
- As an Engineering Manager, Field Service, you will build, lead, and inspire Daystar Power’s Field Service Engineering team. In addition, you will spearhead the implementation of best-in-class success processes, to ensure customer happiness at Daystar Power.
- The job holder should enjoy digging into analytics to guide data-driven decision making and also be comfortable engaging directly with key customers as the ‘face of Daystar Power’.
Key Responsibilities
Operations and Maintenance:
- Ensure uptime of 99% across all sites.
- Remotely monitor and track each site’s performance.
- Schedule and execute site maintenance activities.
- Supervise site operation to detect and resolve issues swiftly.
- Manage spare parts and repairs as needed.
- Execute warranty claims on equipment with early failure.
- Manage site expenses to ensure profitability.
Requirements
- Education:
- Master’s degree in Management (MBA) or similar.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- HSE certification is an advantage.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in Electrical Engineering roles.
- Prior knowledge of the solar or power industry, a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years experience managing relationships with business customers, demonstrated track record of managing and nurturing B2B customer relationships, a strong plus.
- Prior experience in a management position on a Field Service team.
Physical requirement:
- The Engineer shall be capable of lifting up to 20kg; stand for an extended period of time; work in outdoor environment.
Working condition
- Approximately 50% of time shall be spent in an office environment with the remaining time in the field.

- Daystar Power Group is looking to engage competent and experienced Field Service Technicians to install, maintain and operate our sites in Lagos, Katsina, Bauchi, Yobe, Sokoto, Plateau, Jigawa, Benue and Kogi State of Nigeria.
- He or she will troubleshoot and repair PV inverters, commission new equipment, and increase customer satisfaction through quality service and professional behaviour. We are seeking hard working, motivated, and well-organized individuals with a focus on continuous improvement to exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Field Service:
- Installs solar, battery, generators and AC’s at sites across Nigeria.
- Maintains PPE and ensures site safety.
- Maintains assigned tools.
- Produces daily reports achievement.
- Performs frequent site visits to maintain the solar power plant, generators and AC’s.
- Resolves site issues remotely and through site visits.
- Ensures customer satisfaction.
- Serves as the first line of contact for client complaint
Requirements
- Education: Minimum of a Ordinary national diploma or Higher National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Preferably Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 years’ work experience in Electrical Engineering roles, preferably in the renewable energy or power industry, installing and / or maintaining solar systems and generators.
- Language Proficiency: English.
- Character:
- Self-motivated and demonstrate a sense of ownership with high level of commitment and the ability to thrive under pressure.
- Passionate about quality of workmanship.
