The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is now accepting applications from suitably qualified applicants in Nigeria for its Fully funded 2025/2026 NDDC Foreign Post-Graduate (Master’s Degree) Scholarships Program. See the application link, requirements and how to apply below.

To further boost Human Resource Development in the Niger Delta region, the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, is once again embarking on its Foreign Post Graduate Scholarship Program to equip our young people with relevant training and skills for effective participation in the local content program of the Federal Government, as well as enable them to acquire specialization in their fields of study and thus compete globally in various professional disciplines.

The scheme is for suitably qualified applicants, with relevant Bachelor’s Degrees from recognized Universities in the following professional disciplines:

Agricultural Science, Engineering ,Environmental Science ,Geosciences , Information Technology ,Medical Sciences, Law and Architecture.

Benefits of NDDC Post-Graduate Scholarship

Fully Funded Scholarship to study in any of the foreign universities with all expenses of tuition, travel, visa, stipends, and accommodation covered.

Eligibility Criteria for NDDC Post-Graduate Scholarship

To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must meet the following conditions below:

  • Must be from any of the Niger Delta Region
  • Must have achieved a First Class, Second Class Upper, or Lower Division Bachelor Degree.
  • Must not be more than 40 years old.

The scholarship selection process follows a structured procedure:

1. Online Application: Interested candidates must submit an application via the NDDC website (www.nddc.gov.ng).

2. Preliminary Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their WAEC/NECO results and undergraduate degree classification (First Class, Second Class Upper, or Lower).

3. Local Government Identification: Candidates must provide proof of their local government origin.

4. Computer-Based Test (CBT): Shortlisted candidates will undergo a computer-based test conducted by NDDC consultants in Rivers State.

5. Merit Shortlisting: Candidates must achieve a minimum test score of 70% to proceed to the next stage.

6. Final Verification: The final list of candidates will be vetted by the Local Government Area (LGA) and Community Development Committee (CDC).

Application Documents

Applicants must submit their applications online through the NDDC website and must provide the following document below:

  • Recent passport photograph
  • Local Government Identification Letter
  • Post-Graduate admission letter from a recognized overseas university
  • Relevant degrees from recognized universities
  • NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate

Application Deadline

The application deadline for submission is April 21, 2025.

Upon successful completion of the application form, a registration number will be automatically assigned. Applicants are advised to print a hard copy of the online-generated acknowledgment for future reference.

All shortlisted applicants will be announced and posted on the NDDC website: www.nddc.gov.ng. These shortlisted candidates will subsequently be required to take part in a Computer-Based Test (CBT).

Important Information: 

The Commission (NDDC) will not enter into any form of Communication with candidates who are not shortlisted for the Computer Based Test (CBT), those who are not invited for oral interview or candidates that are not successful during the oral interviews.

Preference will be given to candidates from Oil Producing Host/Communities/Local Government Areas as long as candidates meet the approved cut off mark.

The Commission will ensure a fair spread of courses amongst beneficiaries within each State.

Deferment, Change of Institution and Course are not permitted. The Commission reserves the sole and absolute discretion to select in line with the above stated criteria and its internal consideration. The decision of the Commission in this regard is final.
