How to write NYSC Redeployment Letter

The idea of the National Youth Service Commission is to foster unity among the youths of Nigeria by sending them to other states to learn the ways and culture of the people; this ought to bring about cultural unity in the country.

As you already know, you will be deployed to a certain state for your service year; you will be expected to undergo the orientation camp activities in that state.

PCM’s may end up in states they do not want to be, probably because of the insecurities in such states especially some northern regions and southern states.

The NYSC scheme is a bit flexible in the sense that they have given PCM’s the privilege to request for redeployment if they are not comfortable with the initial state they have been posted too.

You have to follow due process and protocols to be successfully redeployed or relocated to a state of your choice.

Ensure you have a genuine reason for seeking to be redeployed, without a good reason; you might not be able to get the redeployment you so much desire.

• At the top right hand-side of the letter is your address
• At the left is the address of NYSC D.G in Abuja, then you write “through”
• Your NYSC State Coordinator, Then “through”
• Your State Camp director. Then full stop.
• Salutation
• Title (e.g Application For Redeployment Back To Borno State)
• Body of the letter
• Conclusion
• Your name and signature. If Possible, your NYSC State code.
