Yes, it is true that the Rivers State Government is going to recruit about 10,000 new teachers in the state.

The above information was confirmed by the Rivers State Commissioner of Education, Dr Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja. The commissioner disclosed this in a statement published and aired via various media outlets in the state.

According to Dr Gogo Jaja the new recruitment is part of the vision of the Governor Barrister Nyesom Wike- led Government to reposition the state educationally and also curb the rate of unemployment among educated youths in the state.

As stated by the Rivers State Commissioner of Education, the state ministry of education is ready for the recruitment of the new teachers and are simply waiting for the final approval of the state governor.
