The Rivers State Government under the Administration of His Excellency. Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State, hereby invites applications from suitably qualified individuals, with a passion for classroom teaching, for recruitment as teachers into public primary and secondary schools across the state.
This exercise is geared towards strengthening the Basic and Secondary Education sectors by engaging professionals committed to quality teaching and fostering academic excellence.

1. Primary School Teachers in all subject areas.

Requirements for 2026 Rivers State Teachers Recruitment
There are mandatory requirements applicants must possess to be eligible to apply for the teaching job in Rivers State. Below are some of the mandatory requirements:
Applicants must:
- Possess the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) as the minimum qualification for Primary School Teachers.
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) or Bachelor’s Degree in any Teaching Subject, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) for Secondary School Teachers.
- Hold a valid Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Certificate.
- Have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or possess an Exemption Certificate.
- Demonstrate strong Communication skills.
- Be computer literate.
