United Nations Migration Management Scholarship (MMDP) | United Nations Migration Management Diploma Programme (MMDP)

The Migration Management Diploma Programme (MMDP) is a capacity-building programme offered by UNU-MERIT since 2013.

The MMDP aims to develop theoretical knowledge on migration management and practical skills such as articulation and presenting. Overall, the course equips participants with new skills and insights, offering practical and interactive experiences in applying the latest knowledge in the field of migration management.

United Nations Migration Management Scholarship (MMDP)

This full-time three-month programme uses various teaching and evaluation methods, including lectures, interactive sessions, and hands-on practical exercises, with a special focus on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method.

MMDP provides a platform for networking through field trips across Europe. These include tours of Dutch Ministries in The Hague, EU institutions in Brussels, and the UN and other intergovernmental agencies in Geneva. This experience offers participants insights into national, regional, and international perspectives on migration management.

Migration Management Diploma Programme (MMDP) 2025: Now Accepting Applications

The MMDP 2025 cohort will run from 10 March 2025 until 28 May 2025 in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

The call for scholarships is now open. Applications from government officials and civil servants working in migration management are being accepted.

Structure of the Programme:

The MMDP is structured around three key courses:

  1. Migration Management and Protection
  2. Migration and Development
  3. Migration Policy

Each course lasts four weeks and covers a range of modules related to the course topic.

How to Apply

Participants are expected to commit to 40 hours per week, which includes both contact hours and self-preparation. The programme emphasizes interactive exercises and practical workshops to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
