Commonwealth Scholarship And Fellowship Plan 2027/2028 Application Portal

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) is now accepting applications from qualified Nigerian University graduates to participate in the 2027/2028 Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) program.

See the benefits, requirements and how to apply for CSFP below. The awards are tenable in the United Kingdom in any of the two categories:

• One year taught Masters course; or
• Doctoral degrees of up to three years duration

ELIGIBILITY

To be considered for these scholarships, applicants must:

• Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person.
• Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
• Be available to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2027.
• By September 2027, hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honours standard, or a lower second-class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree)*.
• Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
• Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format.

How to Apply:

All applications should be made through the Electronic Application System (EAS).

1. Click on EAS portal, register and complete the form online.
2. Upload your scanned passport photograph, all university academic transcripts, birth certificate and admission letter received from a UK Institution listed in the application form.
3. Submit your completed application form online on or before 20th October, 2026.
4. Create PDF version of the completed form, download and print one (1) hard copy for submission at the interview venue.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• All Foreign Certificates must be accompanied by official translation and evaluation.
• Candidates should consider the following developmental priority areas of Nigeria as applicable to specific field of specialization in writing their proposal: Education, Health, Economic Growth and the Private Sector, Governance and Conflict, Climate and Environment, Water and Sanitation, Engineering, Science & Technology, Food and Nutrition, Humanitarian Disasters and Emergencies.
• Applications will be graded on Academic merit, Development impact on completion of the study and Quality of Study plan.
