Pepsi Music Academy (PMA) Naija

Pepsi Music Academy Naija is a music education program and talent accelerator that gives participants the opportunity to learn the 360° of music from established industry professionals.

This edition of the Pepsi Music Academy Naija is designed to remove industry barriers, create new opportunities for upcoming artistes, and shine a spotlight on the next generation of Naija music superstars through a 10-day academy summit.

Key Highlights

  • Participants will have a unique opportunity to learn from legendary producers such as Masterkraft, SARZ, Blaisebeatz, P-Prime, and other notable figures in the music industry.
  • Thirty participants, selected by an esteemed panel of faculty judges, will attend the PMA summit to deepen their understanding of various aspects of the music industry.
  • Three standout participants will have their original LP albums fully mixed, mastered, and produced by award-winning producers. They will also win brand new SUVs, receive a living allowance for two years, become Pepsi influencers, have a sponsored music video production, and secure a two-year recording deal with EMPIRE.

Who can Register for Pepsi Music Academy ?

Open only to individual entrants who meet the following criteria (defined as “Entrants”):

  1. Must be a Nigerian by Nationality.
  2. Must be 18 years of age (as at last birthday) or older and a resident in any state in the Federal Republic Nigeria;
  3. For the purposes of the Academy, the song submitted must have both lyrics and music. All submitted songs must be original songs that have been written by the entrant.
  4. Entrants must be amateur in the music publishing/recording industry (which is defined for purposes of this Academy as individuals who do not have a current binding recording or publishing contract);
  5. Must be acting alone in creating/performing the entry (as defined herein);
  6. Must not have any affiliation with any other beverage company before or during the Academy Period.
  7. Employees of Seven-Up Bottling Company and EMPIRE (Sponsors), retailers of Seven-Up Bottling Company and all other related parties (parent / affiliated companies. etc.) associated with this Academy (collectively, “Sponsor and Promotion Parties”) and each of their immediate family members (defined as parents, spouses, siblings and children; whether biological, adopted, step or in-law) and persons living within the same household as such employees (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate or win a prize.
  8. One entry per person/per email.
  9. This Academy is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws, and is void where prohibited by law.

During the Entry Period, Entrants may visit www.pepsimusicacademy.ng and complete the following steps:

  1.  Complete the online entry form with the required information. The information must remain valid throughout the Academy Period. Else, the Entrant gets disqualified. The social media account entered must be set to “public account” throughout the Academy Period.
  2. Submit the link to your original song (.mp3 file, hosted on Soundcloud) that is at least 2 minutes 50 seconds long; (2:50). It must be afrobeats and consist of at least two (2) verses and one (1) chorus to qualify. Note: The Entrant must be the original and sole composer of the Song, owning all rights to the Song.

Entry into the Pepsi Music Academy Naija (the “Academy”) starts on Thursday November 23rd, 2023 and ends at 00:00am (GMT+1) on Thursday, January 18th, 2024 (the “Entry Period”).

The Academy Summit begins once the Academy Curriculum and all aspects of the summit have been completed
