Kaduna State Scholarship

Eligible students in Nigeria can avail fully-funded scholarship opportunities offered by the Kaduna State Government, whether for studying within the country or abroad.

The KDSG scholarship selection criteria are merit, need, disability, or skills, with a preference for candidates from Kaduna State.
The Government aims to ensure equal access to excellent education for its youth, especially those with outstanding academic credentials.

The scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum CGPA of 4.0 out of 5.0 or 3.5 out of 4.0 throughout their study period.
The scholarship presents a tremendous opportunity for successful candidates to develop their skills and become globally competitive.
The scholarship is considered by the State as a means of enhancing Kaduna State’s human capacity to become among the best in Africa and the world.

Kaduna State Merit Based Local Scholarship

Scholarship Description-

Applicants must be residents of the State.
Applicants must provide personal income tax clearance certificate of parents or death certificate as applicable.
Applicants who are new students must present a valid admission letter.
Continuing students applying for local scholarship must have at least one year left to graduate to be able to benefit.
Spill-over students need not to apply.
Undergraduate applicants for local scholarship must have a minimum of grade B in at least five (5) subjects and grade C in other subjects in WAEC, WASSCE, NECO or its equivalent in one sitting and not more than three (3) years from graduation.
Continuing Undergraduate applicants for local scholarship must have a minimum CGPA of 4.0 of a 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) system or 3.2 of a 4.0 CGPA system.
Postgraduate applicants for local scholarship must have a minimum CGPA of 4.0 of a 5.0 CGPA system or 3.2 of a 4.0 CGPA system for Masters degree while applicants for PhD degree must have a minimum of Master’s degree with merit.

Scholarship Requirement

A minimum CGPA of 4.0 of 5.0 or 3.5 of 4.0
Must be a student who has at least one more semester at the time of disbursement
Must not be a spill over student.
Fresh students must provide evidence of Grade B in at least five subjects including Mathematics and English and Grade C for the other subjects taken in WASSCE or NECO in one seating and not later than 2017

Kaduna State Merit Based Foreign Scholarship

Scholarship Description-

Applicants must be residents of the State.
Applicants must provide personal income tax clearance certificate of parents or death certificate as applicable.
Applicants who are new students must present a valid admission letter.
Spill-over students need not to apply.
All shortlisted foreign applicants must undergo drug test and provide full medical certificate from a government hospital.
All shortlisted foreign applicants must execute Bond agreement with the State.
All employed shortlisted postgraduate foreign scholarship beneficiaries must produce letter of release from their employer.
All shortlisted foreign applicants are required to provide reference letter from employer for employed applicants or from the last Institution of study for unemployed applicants.
Undergraduate applicants for foreign scholarship in approved fields of study not available or in short supply in Nigeria must have a minimum of grade A in at least five (5) subjects including Mathematics and English and grade B for the other subjects in WAEC, WASSCE, NECO or its equivalent in one sitting and not more than three (3) years from graduation.
Postgraduate applicants for foreign scholarship must graduate with a first class honours for Masters degree while applicants for PhD degree must have a Master’s degree with distinction.

Candidates can apply without a secured admission, but admission must be gotten from an approved university before scholarship award
