STEPS TO OBTAIN DRIVERS LICENCE IN NIGERIA
First Step
Attend training at an accredited driving school.
Second Step
The driving school will then present you to the Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO) for a driving test.

Third Step
Pass the driving test and obtain a certificate of proficiency from the VIO.
Fourth Step
Complete the driver’s licence application form at the Driver’s Licence Centre (DLC).
Fifth Step
Pay the licence fee online or at the Bank
Sixth Step
Present your application form to the Board of Internal Revenue (BIR) Officer and VIO at the DLC for endorsement.
Seventh Step
Proceed to the FRSC Officer at the DLC for biometric data capture
Eight Step
Obtain a temporary driver’s licence valid for 60 days.
Ninth Step
Pick up original driver’s licence at the BIR Office after 60 days.
STEPS TO RENEW DRIVERS LICENSE IN NIGERIA
There are exactly six (6) steps every person interested in getting a Nigerian Driver’s Licence must follow, and we have decided to bring it to your notice. For easy reading and understanding we will go through the steps one after the other.
FIRST STEP
Apply online via the approved link www.nigeriadriverslicence.org or you can apply manually at any approved Driver’s Licence Centre (DLC).
SECOND STEP
Proceed to pay the licence fee online or at the designated Bank.
THIRD STEP
After payment you are expected to present your application form to the Board of Internal Revenue (BIR) Officer and Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO) at the DLC for endorsement.
FOURTH STEP
After the 3rd step, hurry to the nearest Federal Road Safety Corps Officer at the DLC for your biometric data capture
FIFTH STEP
After your biometrics has been captured, you will be given a temporary driver’s licence valid for 60 days.
SIXTH STEP
After the 60 days must have elapsed, go and pick up your original driver’s licence at the BIR Office.
