Brief Introduction about the scholarship
As part of its support to educational development and human capacity building, Mobil Producing Nigeria (MPN), operator of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)/MPN Joint Venture awards annual scholarships to qualified undergraduate students in Nigerian Universities.
Since 1974, ExxonMobil upstream affiliates in Nigeria – Esso Exploration and production Nigeria Limited (EEPNL) and Mobil Producing Nigeria (MPN) have supported the education of thousands of Nigerian students through the Companies’ various scholarship schemes.
Basic Requirements for the NNPC/MPN undergraduate scholarship 2018/2019
The application would be an e-application (it would be done electronically; it simply means you will fill the form and submit it online). The scholarship is only for Nigerian undergraduate students who are in their First year (100 level) or Second year (200 level).

- Mechanical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Petroleum Engineering
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Medicine (MBBS Only)
- Agricultural Science (And related fields)
- Computer Science
- Geology/Geophysics
Eligibility Requirements for the NNPC/MPN scholarship 2018/2019
- Interested candidates must possess SSCE or its equivalent with at least six subjects passed at one sitting.
- Applicants must be registered full-time undergraduates (part-time students are not eligible) in their First year or Second year of study in any Nigerian University as stated above.
- All undergraduate students who are currently on a similar scholarship awards from other oil and gas companies should not apply.
- Students who are dependants of employees of Mobil Producing Nigeria, Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc and Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited are not eligible for this scholarship.
How to successfully apply for the NNPC/MPN Scholarship
This application is only open to full-time FIRST YEAR (100 LEVEL) or SECOND YEAR (200 LEVEL) undergraduate students admitted during the 2018/2019 or 2017/2018 academic session.
Please pay attention, as we will be guiding you step by step on how to successfully apply.
STEP 1
Ensure you have scanned copies of the listed documents (please note- the scanned copies must be very clear) and the scanned documents should be named accordingly to the information it contains. Also ensure that you attach the appropriate documents when asked to upload it. Do not be in a hurry.
- A recent passport photograph with white background (450px by 450px not more than 200kb)
- Original University ID card
- Admission letter
- Birth certificate
- JAMB Result
- SSCE result or its equivalent
- Evidence of State of origin obtained from the appropriate Local Government Area and duly signed by the Chairman or Secretary
STEP 2
- Visit scholastica.ng
- Click on “Apply Now” tab
- Click on “Register Now” to create an account
- Click on scholastica.ng to return to Scholarship site
- Put your registered email and password to upload your information.
- Fill in your personal information, National Identification Number (if available), required info and also upload all required scanned documents.
- Make sure the name you used in the application matches the names on all your documents. If not you would be expected to upload a sworn affidavit.
- View all documents after uploading, to be sure of no errors.
- Click “Apply Now” to submit information at http://scholastica.ng/schemes/nnpcmpn
- Return to scholastica.ng, to download your profile and get it signed by your referee or HOD. You must login in to download.
- Upload a scanned copy of your signed profile; it is an important requirement for verification.
Do not apply more than once so you do not get disqualified; take your time to follow all this steps.
All selected applicants will be invited for a CBT in selected exam centers across Nigeria. The shortlisted candidates would be invited for the test via email and SMS. We therefore advise you to use a valid email and phone number while registering.
