Brief Summary about NWDC
The North-West Development Commission (NWDC), established by the NWDC Act, 2024 signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is committed to driving development, growth, and infrastructure enhancement in the North-West region. To further this mission, the Commission is pleased to announce the opening of applications for 2025/2026 Undergraduate and Postgraduate Foreign Scholarship.

This initiative seeks to foster academic excellence and empower exceptional individuals from the North-West region to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies at reputable foreign universities.
This high-value international scholarship is open for three levels of study:
Levels of studies :
a. Undergraduate
b. Master’s
c. Ph.D

These areas were chosen to help young people gain valuable skills that can benefit their communities and the country at large.
NWDC Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered for NWDC scholarship, you must first understand the qualifications and requirements for applying for NWDC scholarship 2025 below:
- Indigene: Be an indigene of the North-West States (Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, & Zamfara)
- Undergraduate: Distinction in 3 O’Level core science subjects and 5 credits in other subjects (in not more than 2 sittings).
- Master’s: CGPA of 3.8 and above.
- PhD: Minimum of 4.0/5.0 CGPA in Master’s Degree.
- Age Limit: 22 years and below for Undergraduate, 35 years and below for Master’s and 40 years and below for PhD at the time of application.

Applicants are requested to submit the following:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Primary Certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree Certificate
- LGA and State Indigene Certificates
- NYSC Discharge Certificate/Exemption Letter
- International Passport documents:
- Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age
- Secondary Certificate (WAEC/NECO)
- Master’s Degree Certificate (for PhD)
- Official Transcript
- Letter of Motivation

The management of North-West Development Commission (NWDC) has announced 18th May, 2025 as the latest closing date for the 2025/2026 NWDC online registration/application.
