We are glad to inform all our readers, especially those who reside in Zamfara State, that the Executive Governor of Zamfara State Dr Bello Matawalle has revealed on his twitter handle that he will be recruiting 3,800 youths under the ZASIP Programme. Isn’t this great news?

According to the former governor, plans are on the way by the federal government in line with the party’s manifesto to come up with new programmes and sustain the ones initiated earlier through the SIP to uplift the standard of living of Nigerians.

As stated by the Governor-

I have set up a committee to recruit no less than 3,800 youths across 14 local government areas in the state, under the Zamfara Social Intervention Programme ( ZASIP). We believe this will reduce the amount of unemployed youths in the state.

It would interest you to know that Zamfara is a State located in the Northwest region of Nigeria and from statistics fall under one of the poorest states in Nigeria with growing unemployment rate. Zamfara has a population of 3,278,873 according to the 2006 census.

The proposed recruitment of 3800 youths is low compared to the general population of unemployed youths, but it is a good step in the right direction. So, kudos to the Zamfara State Government.
