Talented Young Scientists of Nigeria (TYSON), is an annual programme of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology targeted to retain 1st Class graduates of Science / Engineering in the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) sphere, promote collaboration among young Nigerian Science/ Engineering graduates, build friendship, encourage networking, as well as support the scientific aspirations of one another towards contributing to application of science and Technology for national development through competitive Team study of identified International / National problems.

TYSON 2019 Expected Participants

All graduates of Tertiary Institutions (Universities/Polytechnics) with First Class Honours / Distinction in the areas of Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine and Environmental Sciences.

Tasks for TYSON Participants

Participants will be expected to proffer solutions to some of the following prevalent challenges:

  • Non- Commercialization of Research & Development results,
  • Non-Utilization of Nuclear Technology to eradicate malaria in Africa,
  • Non-Utilization of renewable technology to address food storage in the rural areas,
  • Non-utilization of Bioresources to address health challenges.

It is hoped that the programme will result in finding solutions to some identified STI problems, build a network of future scientists for Nigeria, as well as support the global on – going Sustainable Development Agenda .

One of the gains of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology / Nigeria, will be whatever the competitors will be become in the future.
