Alcohol: Please avoid alcoholic beverages no matter the percentage it contains. It can cause foetal alcohol syndrome and can damage the child’s brain and it could later affect the behavioural and learning capability of the baby.
Caffeine: Avoid things that contain caffeine. Take plenty water, juices, and milk rather than caffeinated beverages.
Eggs: If you must eat egg, boil the eggs properly until they are white and the yolks are solid. Do not consume raw eggs. Raw eggs can be found in mayonnaise, ice creams or custards, Avoid consuming these food products during pregnancy.
Honey: It can cause infant botulism, a type of paralytic disease. It is better to avoid the consumption of honey during pregnancy.
Smoking – This act is very harmful to the health of a baby. If you smoke, you are advised to quit the act during pregnancy. Smoking can cause SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), respiratory problems, low birth weight, and also premature birth.
Do not eat food that has expired. Avoid frozen food, avoid very hot food.
